Vorsprung Autowerk SAI Delete Plate Set, Audi EA837 3.0T Supercharged
Vorsprung Autowerk SAI Delete Plate Set
One Less System to Babysit
The secondary air injection system on your 3.0T exists to help Audi pass an emissions test on day one, and that's about where its usefulness ends. The plastic pipe tucked behind the timing cover turns brittle with age and loves to snap the moment a wrench gets anywhere near it, which is a special kind of annoying when it turns a routine timing cover job into an all-day affair. The Vorsprung Autowerk SAI Delete Plate Set gives that whole system its walking papers.
Pull the pump, the valves, and the hoses, bolt on a set of billet plates, and get your afternoon back.
Built for Wrenching, Not Just Deleting
This isn't a generic aluminum blank you have to modify to make fit. Each plate is machined specifically for the EA837 3.0T, so it drops in exactly where the factory SAI hardware used to live. With the pump, valves, and that fragile pipe gone, you also get real access to the PCV area, timing covers, oxygen sensor connectors, and the oil filter housing, the parts of this engine that are miserable to reach with the SAI system still bolted in place.
Billet Aluminum Plates & Stainless Hardware
Each plate is CNC-machined from billet aluminum and seals against the head with an included o-ring, torqued down with stainless steel cap screws (we recommend 9 Nm with blue threadlocker). Vacuum caps are included for the SAI solenoid ports, so there are no dangling vacuum lines left to cap off with a spare bolt and a prayer.
Built for Both Engine Generations
The EA837 changed its SAI plumbing partway through production, so this kit comes in two versions, Pre-CREC and CREC, to match your specific engine. Pick the version that matches your engine code and it bolts right in.

Vorsprung Autowerk Guarantee: Once these plates are on, the only thing you'll miss about your SAI system is how much room it used to take up in the engine bay. We don't miss it either.
Note: Intended for off-road and track use only. Deleting the SAI system requires a proper tune to avoid a check engine light, and emissions laws vary by location, so know your local rules before you delete.
Vehicle Fitment

NOTE: Available in Pre-CREC and CREC versions to match your specific engine code. Select the variant that matches your engine.
S5 / A5 NOTE: 2010-2012 fitment is the S5 Cabriolet only (the 2008-2012 S5 coupe has the 4.2 V8). The A5 was never sold with the supercharged 3.0T in North America; the European-market B8.5 A5 3.0 TFSI (2012-2016) uses the same EA837 engine, so confirm your engine code before ordering.
Delete the SAI system, get a proper tune to keep the check engine light off, and enjoy an engine bay that's actually pleasant to work on.
SAI Delete Plate Set FAQ
Do I need a tune after deleting the SAI system?
Yes. Deleting the SAI system requires a proper tune to prevent a check engine light. This kit is intended for off-road and track use, and emissions laws vary by location.
How do I know if I need the Pre-CREC or CREC version?
It depends on your specific engine code and SAI plumbing generation — select the version that matches your engine code at checkout. If you're not sure, reach out and we'll help you confirm.
What's included?
Billet aluminum plates, o-rings, stainless steel cap screws, and vacuum caps for the SAI solenoid ports.
Does removing the SAI system cause any driveability issues?
No, once properly tuned. The SAI system only runs briefly on cold start to help meet emissions targets; deleting it and tuning around it does not affect normal driving.
When will my order ship?
This is a pre-order. Stock arrives in October 2026, and special pre-order pricing holds until then, so ordering now locks in today's price.
