Vorsprung Autowerk: 3.0T Oil Check Valve Set
Is your Audi starting to sound like a diesel tractor for those first few seconds every morning? That dreaded 1–3 second rattle on cold start is the calling card of the 3.0T engine, and it’s usually caused by oil draining out of the cylinder heads and timing chain tensioners while the car sits.
Our Oil Check Valves are the essential fix to keep oil where it belongs: at the top of your engine.
The "Silent Start" Solution
On many 3.0T models (especially the B8.5), Audi replaced these valves with blank plugs. Without a functional check valve, oil pressure bleeds off when the engine is off. When you start the car, the hydraulic timing chain tensioners are "empty," causing the chain to slap against the guides until oil pressure builds back up.
Vorsprung Autowerk Check Valves prevent this drain-back, ensuring instant lubrication and a quiet, rattle-free startup.
Why Install These?
-
Eliminate Startup Rattle: Keeps the timing chain tensioners primed with oil for immediate tension upon ignition.
-
Protect Your Guides: By stopping the "chain slap" at startup, you reduce the wear and tear on your plastic timing guides, potentially saving you from a $5,000+ engine-out timing job.
-
OEM+ Engineering: Designed to meet or exceed factory specifications with high-quality internal springs and seals that won't fail like the original units.
-
The "While You're In There" Essential: Located in the engine valley, these are the perfect companion to a PCV, Thermostat, or Supercharger service.
