Why You Can’t Skip This
The 3.0T is a Direct Injection (DI) engine. That means your injectors are subjected to extreme combustion chamber pressures and intense heat.
- The Combustion Seal: The white Teflon/PTFE seal at the tip is the only thing stopping high-pressure combustion gases from blowing past the injector. Once removed, these seals "relax" and lose their shape; they cannot be reused.
- The Fuel Rail O-Ring: The upper Viton O-ring holds back fuel rail pressures that can exceed 2,000 PSI. A degraded ring is a fire hazard waiting to happen.

The Spacer & Clip: Heat cycles make the plastic support components brittle. If they crack, the injector won't sit at the correct depth, leading to poor spray patterns and carbon buildup.
