BMW [N54/N55] E9X/E8X/E6X High Performance Stainless Steel 10 Micron In-Line Filter Unit
Note:
The fuel filter shown in the photo is for reference only and not the current model included in this kit. We now use an updated, more efficient fuel filter. For any questions or additional details, please email us at customer_service@spoolperformance.us.
Why You Need It:
The filter unit on the continental rotary high pressure fuel pumps perform an important function of final stage filtering fine particle impurities before it reaches the hpfp pump chamber or worse, the injectors, leading to leaky injectors. The problem with them is that they are extremely tiny, restrictive, and sometimes even rupture, failing to filter at all. The issue becomes worse when running high performance products like the Spool Helix overdrive system because now you have an increased flow requirement through this filter that it cannot keep up with.
We designed the Spool High Performance Stainless Steel 10 Micron in-line filter unit to solve this problem. The unit is comprised of an aluminum filter body with an internal high quality, stainless steel, washable, and 100% E85 compatible ultra fine mesh 10 micron filter unit. The kit can flow up to 6 GPM which is over-engineered for anything the platform can throw at it right now.
The kit also comes with Spool high quality aluminum fittings and 6AN black nylon coated steel braided PTFE lines to replace the non E85 compatible BMW OEM rubber short low pressure fuel line.
Suggested Add-On if Running Ethanol Blend/Full E85: Spool Wireless Ethanol Analyzer Kit
Why You Need it:
According to the latest ASTM guidelines, Ethanol blends rated E85 can have anywhere from 51% to 85% ethanol content. This means the E85 at your pump can in fact at times, be only E55 containing 55% ethanol. This uncertainty is of serious concern to enthusiasts who are running performance E85 tunes for their vehicles. Running a lower ethanol content fuel with a tune rated for a higher content can cause damage to your motor. Knowing the absolute ethanol content in the E85 fuel you are getting from the pump helps you avoid those damages.
The Ethanol analyzer kit comes with a Continental in-line ethanol sensor, Spool Bluetooth Analyzer, Wiring harness, and 6AN upgraded PTFE core, Nylon Coated, Braided stainless steel fuel lines that are fully Ethanol compatible and Burst rated to extreme pressures.
Ethanol Sensor App
Unlike competitors, our Ethanol Analyzer Apps are truly free of cost and features an Ethanol Mix calculator to make sure you get the perfect blend every time. With an ethanol analyzer kit, the App can automatically populate the in-tank fuel's E-content required for the calculations. The app can be downloaded and used even if you do not have our Analyzer kit and will let you estimate your mixes.
**Fitment**
Please note that if you already have modifications made to the low pressure fuel lines on your car, you will most likely need a custom kit to be built in order to fit with your setup. Please email us at customer_service@spoolperformance.us with specific details about your build to check if we can make this kit for you. Thank you!
