When a belt lets go on your 3.0T, the stock front main seal usually goes with it. That thin stamped-steel wiper seal can shred and ingest belt fragments, and once it does, you're looking at an oil leak, a mess in the engine bay, and possibly a misfire that catches you off guard.
The Vorsprung Autowerk Billet Aluminum Front Main Seal replaces that weak point with a CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum holder finished in gloss black anodizing, paired with an OEM Viton Elring seal and integral tension spring. It holds up to higher crankcase pressures than the factory seal, so you get a tighter, more dependable seal around your crank pulley even when your engine is working hard. Grade 12.8 hardware is included, so the whole kit is ready to install.

Do I need to replace anything else while I'm in there?
Since you're already removing the crank pulley and belt to access this area, it's a good time to inspect or replace your supercharger belt and check your tensioner pulley for play.

Does this fit the EA839 2.9T/3.0T twin-turbo engine?
