Vorsprung Artus-Sturm Street Ported Supercharger Service, Audi 3.0T CREC Eaton R1320/TVS1320 (A6/A7/A8/Q7)
Audi 3.0T CREC Ported Supercharger Service: Street Port for the Eaton R1320 (TVS1320)
Precision airflow porting for Gen 2 CREC cars, by AKMSpeed x Vorsprung Autowerk. If your A6, A7, A8 or Q7 carries the CREC engine, this is the street port built for it. Arthur at AKMSpeed re-profiles the inlet and outlet ports of your CREC Eaton R1320 (TVS1320) supercharger case to cut airflow restriction. On average, customers can expect a total potential gain of 20-40 whp, depending on tune, fueling and supporting mods.
Your Gen 2 3.0T is not an S4, and it should not be ported like one. The CREC supercharger carries a magnetic clutch, comes with a matching dose of Audi Tax and needs additional machine work during porting, which is why it has its own listing and sits $250 above the Gen 1 service. Same five-step process, same fresh oil, return shipping still included.
- ✅ Fits the Gen 2 CREC 3.0T: A6 and A7 (2016-2018), A8 (2015-2018) and Q7 (2017-2019), with a year-by-year table below. S4, S5, Q5 and SQ5 use the Gen 1 engine: see the Gen 1 street port.
- ✅ About 2 weeks from the day your core arrives: not the month-plus wait some shops quote. Return shipping is included in the price.
- ✅ Fresh oil and a full decontamination wash: every unit is stripped, cleaned of porting debris and refilled with premium-grade supercharger oil before it ships.
- ✅ Optional bearing rebuild (+$100): refresh a high-mileage unit while the case is open.
- ✅ No-wait option: choose "No" under "Sending in your core?" and we supply a pre-ported unit that is ready to ship.
- ✅ Stackable add-ons: throttle body porting and Ultracharger and Superduper porting, $150 each.
Bottom line: a porting service that actually names your CREC engine. Street-ported, cleaned and fresh-oiled, back to you in about 2 weeks with return shipping included.
Gen 1 vs Gen 2 (CREC) at a Glance
Audi changed the supercharged 3.0T partway through its life, and the two versions are ported on separate listings. Here is how to tell which one is yours.

What Porting Does to a CREC Eaton R1320 (TVS1320)
Magnetic clutch aside, the CREC supercharger is still an Eaton R1320 (TVS1320) rotor pack in a cast housing: air enters the inlet port, passes through the rotors and exits through the outlet port. Any roughness or pinch point along that path costs airflow. Our street port re-profiles the inlet and outlet ports of the case so the air takes a smoother route.
That means more airflow at the same pulley and RPM, and more airflow is where extra boost comes from. As with any flow work, the rest of the car needs to keep up, so confirm your tune and fueling before you pull the supercharger.
Street Port or Race Port for a CREC Car?
Both services follow the same five-step process. The difference is how far the port work goes.
| Street Port (this page) | Race Port | |
|---|---|---|
| Port work | Precision re-profile of the inlet and outlet ports | More aggressive, race-spec port job |
| Typical potential gain | 20-40 whp | 30-50 whp |
| Built for | Daily-driven and street-tuned cars | Built cars with supporting fuel and tuning |
| Turnaround | About 2 weeks from core receipt | About 2 weeks from core receipt |
| Return shipping | Included | Included |
| Starting price with your core | $999.99 | $1,274.99 |
Daily-driven or street-tuned? This is the one. Built car with supporting fuel and tuning? Look at the CREC race port.
The AKMSpeed Process: From Your Core to a Ported, Serviced Supercharger
Every unit goes through the same five steps, so what comes back is clean, serviced and ready to bolt on.
-
Disassembly and inspection: your supercharger is fully stripped down and the factory oil is drained.
-
Precision porting: Arthur at AKMSpeed re-profiles the inlet and outlet ports of the CREC R1320 case to optimize the airflow path.
-
Decontamination: the case gets a thorough cleaning to remove every metal shaving and bit of debris left by the porting stage.
-
Fluid service: the unit is reassembled and refilled with premium-grade supercharger oil.
-
Optional maintenance: add a full bearing rebuild (+$100) to refresh a high-mileage unit while it is already apart.
Typical Results From a CREC Street Port
The Eaton R1320 responds well to porting. On average, customers can expect:
-
Boost: about 2 to 3 psi more than an unported supercharger on the same pulley.
-
Power: a total potential gain of 20-40 whp.
-
The fine print: your numbers depend on your tune, fueling, pulley and supporting mods. Treat these as a typical range, not a promise.
How Ordering Works: Core, Rebuild and Finish Options
This listing has three options. Here is what each one does:
-
CREC pricing: CREC cores need additional machine work during porting, so both core options run $250 above our Gen 1 street port. Bearing rebuild and color options are priced the same as always.
-
Sending in your core? Yes: you ship us your supercharger (your "core"), we port it and send it back about 2 weeks after it arrives. This is a mail-in service, so you are responsible for shipping your core to our shop. Return shipping is included in the price.
-
Sending in your core? No: skip the wait. This option supplies a pre-ported unit that is ready for immediate dispatch. Email help@vorsprungautowerk.com with any questions about availability or core exchange before you order.
-
Bearing rebuild? Yes (+$100): a full bearing rebuild while the case is open, a good idea for a high-mileage unit.
-
Color, Factory or Custom (+$50): Factory keeps the stock housing finish. Custom is for buyers who want a different housing appearance after porting.
-
Add-ons (+$150 each): throttle body porting and Ultracharger and Superduper porting are separate listings. Add them to the same order and we perform them together.
Vehicle Fitment
This CREC service fits the Gen 2 supercharged Audi 3.0T (CREC engine code, Eaton R1320 / TVS1320): the A6 and A7 (C7.5 2016-2018), the A8 3.0T (D4.5 2015-2018) and the Q7 3.0T (4M 2017-2019). The S4, S5, Q5 and SQ5 sold in North America use the Gen 1 engine, so they belong on the Gen 1 listing. Not sure your core qualifies? Email your VIN or part number before ordering.
| Make | Model | Years | Chassis | Engine |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Audi | A6 and A7 | 2016-2018 | C7.5 | 3.0T V6 Supercharged (Gen 2 CREC, Eaton R1320) |
| Audi | A8 (3.0T) | 2015-2018 | D4.5 | 3.0T V6 Supercharged (Gen 2 CREC, Eaton R1320) |
| Audi | Q7 (3.0T) | 2017-2019 | 4M | 3.0T V6 Supercharged (Gen 2 CREC, Eaton R1320) |
NOTE: This CREC listing applies only to the cars above. B8/B8.5 S4, S5, Q5 and SQ5 use the earlier non-CREC EA837 engine, and so do 2012-2015 A6 and A7, 2013-2014 A8 and 2011-2015 Q7: see our Gen 1 street port for those. Cars built near a model-year changeover are the ones to double check, so email help@vorsprungautowerk.com with your VIN or part number and we will confirm.
Service Underneath While the Supercharger Is Off
Once your supercharger is out, everything that lives underneath it is easy to reach: the thermostat housing, water pump, PCV valve, intake manifold gaskets and injector seals. Doing them now means you pay for that labor once instead of twice. The parts come bundled in our OE Ultimate Under Supercharger Kit for the Gen 2 CREC 3.0T.

CREC Ported Supercharger Service FAQ
What does CREC mean on an Audi 3.0T?
CREC is the engine code of the Gen 2 supercharged 3.0T found in the 2016-2018 A6 and A7, the 2015-2018 A8 and the 2017-2019 Q7. The S4, S5, Q5 and SQ5 sold in North America use the Gen 1 engine, so they have their own listing.
How do I know if my car has the CREC engine?
Your engine code is printed on the vehicle data sticker, usually in the service booklet and the spare wheel well. If you are not sure, email your VIN to help@vorsprungautowerk.com and we will confirm before you ship anything.
Is a CREC supercharger different from a Gen 1 supercharger?
Yes. The CREC unit carries a magnetic clutch and needs additional machine work during porting, so CREC and Gen 1 cores are handled on separate listings.
Why does the CREC porting service cost $250 more than the Gen 1 service?
The CREC supercharger core requires additional machine work during porting, so pricing on both the "sending in your core" and "no core" paths is $250 higher than our Gen 1 street port. Bearing rebuild and color options cost the same as always.
How much power does a street-ported CREC supercharger add?
On average, a total potential gain of 20-40 whp, depending on your tune, fueling, pulley and supporting mods. Treat it as a typical range rather than a guarantee.
Do I need a tune after porting my CREC supercharger?
There is no separate "ported supercharger" tune. Start with a reputable Stage tune and have your tuner confirm it covers the extra airflow, especially if you also run a smaller crank pulley. More air needs more fuel, so check your fuel system headroom at the same time.
Will it work with my stock pulley?
Yes. The service is designed to raise your boost ceiling without a pulley change. When you want more later, it pairs well with the TruDrive crank pulley, and our crank pulley guide covers sizes and installation.
How long does CREC supercharger porting take, and can I skip the wait?
About 2 weeks from the day your core arrives at our shop, with return shipping included. If you cannot afford any downtime, choose "No" under "Sending in your core?" to order a pre-ported unit that is ready to ship.
How much does a CREC ported supercharger cost?
The CREC street port starts at $999.99 when you send in your core, and pre-ported units without a core start at $1,699.99. A bearing rebuild adds $100, the Custom housing finish adds $50, and each porting add-on is $150. On the send-in path, return shipping is already in the price.
Which A6, A7, A8 and Q7 years does this cover?
A6 and A7 2016-2018 (C7.5), A8 3.0T 2015-2018 (D4.5) and Q7 3.0T 2017-2019 (4M). Earlier cars (A6 and A7 2012-2015, A8 2013-2014, Q7 2011-2015) use the Gen 1 engine and the Gen 1 street port. If your car sits near a model-year changeover, email your VIN and we will confirm.
Should I choose the street port or the race port for my CREC car?
Pick the street port for a daily-driven or street-tuned car. Pick the CREC race port if the car is built, with the tune, fueling and hardware to use the most airflow the case can deliver. Not sure? Email your mod list to help@vorsprungautowerk.com.
What should I do while my supercharger is off the car?
Replace what lives underneath it: the thermostat housing, water pump, PCV valve, intake manifold gaskets and injector seals. Our OE Ultimate Under Supercharger Kit for the Gen 2 CREC 3.0T bundles them.
