Vorsprung Artus-Sturm Race Ported Supercharger Service, Audi 3.0T CREC Eaton R1320/TVS1320 (A6/A7/A8/Q7)
Audi 3.0T CREC Race Ported Supercharger Service: Maximum Airflow from the Eaton R1320 (TVS1320)
Maximum airflow porting for Gen 2 CREC cars, by AKMSpeed x Vorsprung Autowerk. Our race port is the more aggressive of our two profiles, and this listing is built for the CREC engine in the A6, A7, A8 and Q7. Arthur at AKMSpeed re-profiles the inlet and outlet ports of your CREC Eaton R1320 (TVS1320) supercharger case to move as much air as the case can deliver. On average, customers can expect a total potential gain of 30-50 whp, depending on supporting mods and tuning.
Audi's Gen 2 3.0T is a fine engine wearing a supercharger case cast for the assembly line, not the dyno. If your tune, fueling and hardware are ready for more air, the race port is how you hand it over. CREC cores need additional machine work, which is why this has its own listing and sits $250 above the Gen 1 race port.
- ✅ Fits the Gen 2 CREC 3.0T: A6 and A7 (2016-2018), A8 (2015-2018) and Q7 (2017-2019), with a year-by-year table below. S4, S5, Q5 and SQ5 use the Gen 1 engine: see the Gen 1 race port.
- ✅ A more aggressive race-spec port profile: the same AKMSpeed process as our street port, with the port work taken further.
- ✅ About 2 weeks from the day your core arrives: not the month-plus wait some shops quote. Return shipping is included in the price.
- ✅ Fresh oil and a full decontamination wash: every unit is stripped, cleaned of porting debris and refilled with premium-grade supercharger oil before it ships.
- ✅ Optional bearing rebuild (+$100): refresh a high-mileage unit while the case is open.
- ✅ No-wait option: choose "No" under "Sending in your core?" and we supply a pre-ported unit that is ready to ship.
- ✅ Stackable add-ons: throttle body porting and Ultracharger and Superduper porting, $150 each.
Bottom line: a built CREC car deserves a blower that breathes like one. Race-ported, cleaned and fresh-oiled, back to you in about 2 weeks with return shipping included.

| Your car runs a tune built for more airflow, or you are ready to get one | Your car is a daily driver on a stock or light Stage tune |
| Your fuel system has headroom for the extra air | You want more boost without turning the rest of the car into a project |
| You are chasing dyno numbers, track times or drag passes | You want to start modestly and go further later |
Leaning toward the street option? The CREC street port does the job for most street cars. Not sure which fits yours? Email your mod list to help@vorsprungautowerk.com.

What a Race Port Changes Inside the CREC Eaton R1320 (TVS1320)
The path is the same as on the street port: air enters the inlet port, passes through the rotors and leaves through the outlet port. The race port takes the port work further than our street port, with a more aggressive profile aimed at the most airflow the CREC case can deliver.
That extra airflow only pays off if the rest of your A6, A7, A8 or Q7 can use it, so plan your tune, fueling and supporting hardware before you ship your core.
What a Race Port Needs From the Rest of Your Car
-
Tune: there is no separate race port tune. Have your tuner build around your actual setup, and tell them about the port and any pulley.
-
Fuel: more air needs more fuel. Check high-pressure fuel pump and injector headroom with your tuner, especially if you run E-blends.
-
Spark: a stronger spark supports the added airflow, and the Zeus ignition coil upgrade kit is made for the EA837.
-
Throttle body: match the opening to the ported inlet with the 84mm billet adapter or the Luft-Strom 84mm kit, or add throttle body porting to the same order.
-
Pulley: a TruDrive crank pulley spins the supercharger faster for more boost. Our crank pulley guide covers the sizes.
The AKMSpeed Race Porting Process
The race port follows the same five steps as our street port. The difference is how far the port work goes in step two.
-
Disassembly and inspection: your supercharger is fully stripped down and the factory oil is drained.
-
Aggressive precision porting: Arthur at AKMSpeed re-profiles the inlet and outlet ports of the CREC R1320 case with a more aggressive race-spec port job, taking the work further than our street port.
-
Decontamination: the case gets a thorough cleaning to remove every metal shaving and bit of debris left by the porting stage.
-
Fluid service: the unit is reassembled and refilled with premium-grade supercharger oil.
-
Optional maintenance: add a full bearing rebuild (+$100) to refresh a high-mileage unit while it is already apart.
Typical Results From a CREC Race Port
The Eaton R1320 responds even better to race-level porting. On average, customers can expect:
-
Boost: about 2 to 3 psi more than an unported supercharger on the same pulley.
-
Power: a total potential gain of 30-50 whp, a step above the street port.
-
The fine print: your numbers depend on your tune, fueling, pulley and supporting mods, and a race port is meant for cars that have them. Treat these as a typical range, not a promise.
How Ordering Works: Core, Rebuild and Finish Options
This listing has three options. Here is what each one does:
-
CREC pricing: CREC cores need additional machine work during porting, so both core options run $250 above our Gen 1 race port. Bearing rebuild and color options are priced the same as always.
-
Sending in your core? Yes: you ship us your supercharger (your "core"), we port it and send it back about 2 weeks after it arrives. This is a mail-in service, so you are responsible for shipping your core to our shop. Return shipping is included in the price.
-
Sending in your core? No: skip the wait. This option supplies a pre-ported unit that is ready for immediate dispatch. Email help@vorsprungautowerk.com with any questions about availability or core exchange before you order.
-
Bearing rebuild? Yes (+$100): a full bearing rebuild while the case is open, a good idea for a high-mileage unit.
-
Color, Factory or Custom (+$50): Factory keeps the stock housing finish. Custom is for buyers who want a different housing appearance after porting.
-
Add-ons (+$150 each): throttle body porting and Ultracharger and Superduper porting are separate listings. Add them to the same order and we perform them together.
Vehicle Fitment
This CREC race port fits the Gen 2 supercharged Audi 3.0T (CREC engine code, Eaton R1320 / TVS1320): the A6 and A7 (C7.5 2016-2018), the A8 3.0T (D4.5 2015-2018) and the Q7 3.0T (4M 2017-2019). The S4, S5, Q5 and SQ5 sold in North America use the Gen 1 engine, so they belong on the Gen 1 listing. Not sure your core qualifies? Email your VIN or part number before ordering.
| Make | Model | Years | Chassis | Engine |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Audi | A6 and A7 | 2016-2018 | C7.5 | 3.0T V6 Supercharged (Gen 2 CREC, Eaton R1320) |
| Audi | A8 (3.0T) | 2015-2018 | D4.5 | 3.0T V6 Supercharged (Gen 2 CREC, Eaton R1320) |
| Audi | Q7 (3.0T) | 2017-2019 | 4M | 3.0T V6 Supercharged (Gen 2 CREC, Eaton R1320) |
NOTE: This CREC listing applies only to the cars above. B8/B8.5 S4, S5, Q5 and SQ5 use the earlier non-CREC EA837 engine, and so do 2012-2015 A6 and A7, 2013-2014 A8 and 2011-2015 Q7: see our Gen 1 race port for those. Cars built near a model-year changeover are the ones to double check, so email help@vorsprungautowerk.com with your VIN or part number and we will confirm.
Service Underneath While the Supercharger Is Off
Once your supercharger is out, everything that lives underneath it is easy to reach: the thermostat housing, water pump, PCV valve, intake manifold gaskets and injector seals. Doing them now means you pay for that labor once instead of twice. The parts come bundled in our OE Ultimate Under Supercharger Kit for the Gen 2 CREC 3.0T.

CREC Race Ported Supercharger Service FAQ
What is a CREC race-ported supercharger?
The more aggressive of our two port profiles, built for the CREC engine. It follows the same five-step AKMSpeed process as the street port, but the port work goes further, aimed at the most airflow the CREC Eaton R1320 (TVS1320) case can deliver.
How much power does a CREC race port add?
On average, a total potential gain of 30-50 whp, depending on your supporting mods and tuning. Treat it as a typical range rather than a guarantee, because a race port is only as good as the tune, fueling and hardware behind it.
What does CREC mean on an Audi 3.0T?
CREC is the engine code of the Gen 2 supercharged 3.0T found in the 2016-2018 A6 and A7, the 2015-2018 A8 and the 2017-2019 Q7. The S4, S5, Q5 and SQ5 sold in North America use the Gen 1 engine, so they have their own listing.
Why does the CREC race port cost $250 more than the Gen 1 race port?
The CREC supercharger core requires additional machine work during porting, so pricing on both the "sending in your core" and "no core" paths is $250 higher than our Gen 1 race port. Bearing rebuild and color options cost the same as always.
What is the difference between the race port and the street port?
The race port is a more aggressive port job aimed at maximum airflow, built for cars with supporting fuel and tuning. The CREC street port is our standard option for daily-driven and street-tuned cars. Both take about 2 weeks and include return shipping.
What supporting mods does a CREC race port need?
Plan on a tune, fueling headroom, solid spark and a throttle body that matches the ported inlet. The checklist above has what we recommend, with links, and you can email your mod list to help@vorsprungautowerk.com if you want a second opinion.
Do I need a tune after race porting?
Yes, plan on one. There is no separate "race port" tune, so have your tuner build around your actual setup and tell them about the port and any pulley.
Will a race port change my fuel needs?
Yes, more airflow raises fuel demand. Check your high-pressure fuel pump and injector headroom with your tuner before you ship your core, especially if you run E-blends or flex fuel.
How long does it take, and what does a CREC race port cost?
About 2 weeks from the day your core arrives, with return shipping included. The CREC race port starts at $1,274.99 when you send in your core and $1,824.99 for a pre-ported unit without a core. A bearing rebuild adds $100, the Custom housing finish adds $50, and each porting add-on is $150.
Which A6, A7, A8 and Q7 years does this cover?
A6 and A7 2016-2018 (C7.5), A8 3.0T 2015-2018 (D4.5) and Q7 3.0T 2017-2019 (4M). Earlier cars (A6 and A7 2012-2015, A8 2013-2014, Q7 2011-2015) use the Gen 1 engine and the Gen 1 race port. If your car sits near a model-year changeover, email your VIN and we will confirm.
Is the race port right for a daily driver?
A race port is built for maximum airflow. If your car is a daily driver on a mild tune, start with the street port. If you are not sure which fits your build, email your mod list and we will point you the right way.
What should I do while my supercharger is off the car?
Replace what lives underneath it: the thermostat housing, water pump, PCV valve, intake manifold gaskets and injector seals. Our OE Ultimate Under Supercharger Kit for the Gen 2 CREC 3.0T bundles them.
