6.5L GM Diesel Glow Plug Connector Pigtail with Heat Sleeves
Fusible Link Glow Plug Connector Pigtails for 6.5L GM Diesel
Fusible link glow plug connector pigtails for all 6.5L GM diesels. Simply cut out the old glow plug wire and splice in the replacement. Includes butt splices, heat shrink tubing, and high temperature protective wire sleeves.
The glow plug harness on a 6.5L diesel should never be repaired with standard automotive or primary wire! The majority of the glow plug harness on a 6.5L diesel is assembled using fusible link wire and needs to be repaired accordingly. While fusible link wire is more expensive, its insulation has a high heat rating that allows the copper within to melt and create an open circuit in the event of an over-current condition without melting through the insulation and exposing the potentially energized wire. These replacement links are assembled using OEM glow plug connectors and terminals.
Each pigtail includes a section of high temperature wire sleeve that protects the connector from heat given off by the exhaust manifolds, significantly prolonging the life of the connector and terminal.
